The appetizers that you set for your dinner party help set the mood for the rest of the event. If you want to impress your guests and give an elegant air to your party, one way you can achieve it is by setting crab imperial on your appetizer table.

Crab imperial is simply a dish of puff pastries filled with crabmeat, mascarpone cheese, and a handful of spices. This appetizer is a beauty, not just appealing to the eyes but to the taste buds as well. Depending on other factors, this appetizer can help you set a festive mood for your party.

Crab imperial is notoriously easy to make and needs only half an hour of cooking time. Most of that time will be taken up by prebaking the pastry cups, as the crabmeat filling will only need a ten-minute warm-up in the oven. The crabmeat mixture is what makes this appetizer delicious. In this mixture, you’ll find crabmeat and diced brioche bread seasoned with lemon juice and zest, Cape Cod seasoning, and hot sauce. Vegetables and herbs like red bell pepper, shallots, chives, and parsley add a layer of flavor to the filling. Mascarpone cheese and heavy cream give the mixture more body and flavor, as well as creaminess. This amazing recipe is from Michelle of A Dish of Daily Life.
