This is an old fashioned recipe that has been in our family for over 35 years now! It has been requested that I post it because I shared my Old Fashioned Coconut Cream Pie last week with you all!
It is pretty simple and it tastes better than any store bought pie you could get in a store!
Ingredients
FOR THE PIE CRUST
- 2 1/2 cups flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 cup of cold butter cut into small cubes
- 1/4 of a cup ice water
FOR THE FILLING
- 1 2/3 cups water
- 4 heaping tablespoons cornstarch
- 1 (14 ounce) can Eagle Brand Condensed Milk
- 3 egg yolks, beaten
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 4 medium bananas, sliced
- 2 large RIPE bananas, mashed
FOR WHIPPED CREAM
- 1 cup whipping cream
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 3 Tablespoons confectioners sugar (powdered sugar)
