The beans are cooked just until tender crisp and the traditional mushroom soup is then added (you can also make Homemade Condensed Cream of Mushroom Soup if you don’t want to use canned).
Next I sprinkle in some diced red bell peppers which is not only super flavorful, but makes this dish beautifully colorful and festive!
INGREDIENTS:
4 cups green beans, ends removed and cut into 1/2 inch pieces
1 can cream of mushroom soup (10.5 0z)
1 teaspoon soy sauce
1/2 cup red pepper, diced
1/2 cup Milk
1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
1/4 cup fresh shredded parmesan cheese
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese, divided
1 1/3 cups crispy fried onions, divided
pepper to taste
DIRECTIONS:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Bring a large pot of water to boil. Cook green beans for 4-5 minutes or until tender crisp. Drain
Combine mushroom soup, soy sauce, milk, 1/2 cup cheddar cheese, parmesan cheese, smoked paprika, 3/4 cup fried onions, red pepper and green beans. Season with black pepper to taste.
A casserole dish and top with remaining fried onions and cheese.
Bake for 25-30 minutes or until hot and bubbly.
